From a ten year old series of watercolor drawings.....

I've been meaning to show some of these watercolors I did around the turn of the century. I believe some of them hold up rather well. Of course if I were to do some more now, I am convinced I could do a better job: looser, warmer, brighter and more erotic.

It's been a few days between posts, so I thought I'd present a little bit of one of the books I've been getting into shape for printing. These are a selection from the one devoted to Dilan, the Chatter in Chennai.

Chapin's Self-Photos Altered

There was something I liked so very much about these photos which this amateur posted on a Mexican private photos site that I felt I needed to re-present them here. As originally shown there were no faces on the two lower images but black squares. I provided him with what I deemed the best available face for his very interesting body. The first two photos above are unaltered except through color and exposure adjustment.

A Rom Woman Offering Lemons

Continuing on with that series from which I've so far shown portraits of Thin Mar Oo and Sheila Nicholls, here are some photos of my sister, Karen Wittig, looking very much like a Gypsy or Rom trying to sell her lovely, yet humble, basket of lemons. Appropriately to the situation she seems to be displaying a very healthy level of suspicion.

Amare Cesar

In honor of Amare appearing naked on the cover of a major sports magazine I decided to make a new version of my favorite digital painting of him. It's called Amare Cesar in the Imperial Pool at Capri. I also made a new one named The New King of New York Looking Up at His Mirrored Ceiling. Lest anyone think that I intend to make light of Amare's abilities by presenting him as a sexual idol, let me say immediately that I admire his game above all others now playing and I am looking forward with the greatest enthusiasm to see how he will perform on the World's Largest Stage.

Gilberto Cortez

The very first image I displayed on this blog was of this character known as Gil Cortez, the nom de guerre of a porn model who was active for a few years in the middle of the last decade. I suppose I latched onto him in large part because he resembles a young man I know (who is dear to me and yet unattainable) and so is able to function as a surrogate fantasy figure. Since I began with the image of this young man, I wanted here to reassert his own individual pseudo-reality and give further examples of what I believe to be his particular physical and spiritual beauty.

Now and Then

I sometimes wish I had started to record the progression of my body's development at an earlier point in time. I have no pictures of it at its best, which I judge to have been at around the age of twenty seven. Here are a couple of recent pictures and three from fifteen years ago. I believe one can note the effects of aging without too much regret.
