Lili models at Eureka Valley Life Drawing

Lili Brumme, once again as promised at Eureka Valley Recreation Center in the Castro District of San Francisco.  It's a place where mostly the relatively young and old congregate for various forms of activity, from basketball to yoga to life drawing.  Lili is a set dresser for photo shoots, but in her spare time she's a damn fine model, at least for the purpose that interests me most: drawing from a live nude figure (male or female are equally compelling, but so much depends on the abilities of the particular model.)  All hail Lili!

Leda & Eileen Kim

Leda and the Swan (after the painting by Cesare da Sesto) and Dr Eileen Kim (inspired by Lorenzo di Credi's portrait of his brother's widow), both at OCD Chocolates 63E4thSt now through the end of the month.

Lili Brumme again at Eureka Valley Rec

Lili Brumme modeled again on Saturday 17 August at Eureka Valley Rec. She's an excellent model and I believe I'll have the chance to draw her again next session. Something to fondly look forward to.

I especially enjoy Lili Brumme's 3 minute poses. They don't need to be held long, so they can be more complicated and compelling, but she has a good sense of creating forms that aid the drawing.

Shane Diva & Aaron Ness as Mermaid & Werewolf

After my East Coast break I returned to Life Drawing at Eureka Valley Rec.  The models yesterday were Shane Diva & Aaron Ness, two contrasting bodies & characters: Shane being slender & mermaidesque, Aaron being stocky, muscled & pierced; both worth long looking, each in their own way.  Kind of like Jack Smith’s Mermaid & Werewolf in Normal Love, my favorite sequence.
