Watercolor Life Drawings of Maggie

Two watercolor life drawings of Maggie Stader from last night's session at Cafe Flore, 30 minutes each pose, two poses per sheet, the first, second, third and fourth poses. (She reminds me of my friend, Grace Sokolowski, who used to pose for me often many years ago.) After I ran out of watercolor paper, I made a single pencil drawing for the final pose of the evening.

Support the Girls, a film about the decade

What are the best films about this decade? I should have mentioned Support the Girls.

Best Films about this Decade

Someone posed a question on Twitter, asking which were the best films about this decade that seems to be coming to an end, depending on how you count it, meaning, I take it, those films that best reflect the spirit of these last ten years.  I initially chose three representative movies that I felt best told the tale of our time:

 You were never really here

 American Honey

and Spring Breakers,

but upon further reflection, and looking on some others' proposed lists, I decided to add:

 the Dead don't die

 Bastards

and Twin Peaks, the Return.

Maggie Stader at Cafe Flore

Last Sunday I drew Maggie posing in variously revealing garments at Cafe Flore; and naked the day before at Eureka Valley Rec.  She's one of my favorite models, large and agile, and not afraid of the large gesture.  She's got a good sense of how her body works.
