Joey Roberto Gómez used to go by the name of Harry Toibox on the internet, as well as Joey the Builder, which may be his current handle. He works in construction in the Los Angeles area and posts various photos
on his instagram page
of the remodeling and new building projects to which he has
contributed. Clearly, the majority of these pictures were not found
there. They’re just some I collected a few years ago from various sites
before they disappeared.
Claire Denis’ long awaited science fiction film, High Life, her
first in English, had its first public showing at the Toronto Film
Festival last week. I haven’t seen it yet, but I’ve been mulling over
these images from it since they were released a few months ago. Though
she wasn’t working with her usual camerawoman,
Agnès Godard, the images are very much of a piece with those of her
other films. (Yorick Le Saux is the director of photography here.) I
especially look forward to seeing what she can do with Pattinson along
the lines of her past close physical explorations of
Grégoire Colin
and
Isaach De Bankolé
