These are some portrait photographs from a series which has never been publicly shown. Though they play with notions of Asian identity (and the series as a whole concerns ethnicity and its formal presentation) these are more personal works, dealing as they do with matters of character and self-presentation and other subtleties which are perhaps not best put into words (lest one risk giving offense,) but still must be displayed in some kind of open setting for them to have any sort of meaning or artistic worth.
