De Kooning's Early Geometric Abstractions and Men

 1.Untitled 1928

 2.Untitled Abstraction 1931

Willem de Kooning made these paintings and drawings between the years 1928 and 1943, which means they were all made after his immigration to the United States, but prior to his marriage to Elaine Fried.  Two of his main areas of exploration during this period were the male figure and geometric abstraction.  There were pictures of women as well but they don’t dominate as they do later.
