These four still life paintings and the cubist tea party in the middle
were painted in oils on canvas thirty five years ago or thereabouts in
Mansfield CT. They reflect my concerns at the time and fuse an
understanding of my daily mundane perceptions with the mediated views of
the world writ large through television and journalism and other forms
of propaganda. The (unfinished or abandoned) painting, Opus Dei, concerns the murder of Roberto Calvi, the Italian financier known as God's
Banker for his links to the Vatican, who was found hanged
from Blackfriars Bridge in London in 1982
