an Unforgettable Summer

Lucian Pintilie
(9 November 1933 – 16 May 2018)

Just the other day I tried explaining, to a friend, just who the great Romanian stage & film director was, not knowing that the man had just died. The images come from an Unforgettable Summer (1994) with Kristin Scott Thomas: star, film & its maker, all unforgettable.

Miguel Temon's brother

Miguel Temon once mentioned in an interview that he stumbled onto a video of his brother fucking a guy and though he didn't think of him as gay or knew of him making videos that it didn't much surprise him because he knew how much his brother just liked to fuck.  So here's the video to which I believe he was referring, unless it's Miguel trying to disguise himself with a ski cap.  Either way, it's a good video and the link is just below.  It looks like it was shot in Mexico City.

A Couple of Pencil Drawings by Dale Wittig

Two Portrait Drawings, the first of Sebastian Brecht, dated 4 May 2018, and the other of my sister, Karen Lank, dated 19 April 2018, pencil & hairspray on paper.  The portrait of Karen was made in Mansfield Connecticut around the time of her Memorial Service.  It’s based on a photo of her at a breakfast in Glover VT seven years earlier.  The portrait of Sebastian was made here in San Francisco based on a couple of photos I shot of him in his shop in NYC a couple of months ago.

PARIS, MAI 68

Beneath the paving stones, the beach.

Fifty years ago the revolution of May 68 was underway in Paris, led by students and workers and even a few filmmakers, philosophers and historians, like Guy Debord, René Viénet and Raoul Vaneigem (though Vaneigem was said to be on vacation at the time.)

Be realistic, demand the impossible.
