Fitcher's Bird

Cindy Sherman
(from the tale transcribed by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm)
New York
15 October 1992

Given her Disasters and Fairy Tales series, it should come as no great surprise that Cindy Sherman should have taken up the task of illustrating a favorite of Grimm’s Household Tales, especially one that is so strongly related to the various Bluebeard tales.  Rizzoli published this book in a deluxe edition with fifteen color photographs, nine of which are not at all perfectly presented above.

Kong Kao bound for Public Display

Kong Kao
aka 高睿甫
aka Voie Neuf
Taipei Adult Expo 6
June 2017

I’ve admired Kong Kao’s amateur and professional porn pictures for several years and lately came across a commercial Japanese porn video of him fucking a fortunate Japanese muscle man.  He has a profile on Xtube, under the name of Voie Neuf, where one may find numerous self made videos, including a very long very sensual solo shower scene and another where he fucks a replica of his own butt, both well worth the watching.  These photos show him undergoing erotic Japanese rope bondage at Tapei Adult Expo 6.  He appears to be having a good time of it.  I’m sorry that I’ve been unable to identify the young Japanese rope master doing the binding, given his considerable attractions.

Santa Chocolate Shop

Paul McCarthy
Los Angeles CA 1997

First presented as a room size video installation at the Whitney Biennial of 1997, McCarthy’s anti consumerist Xmas classic bears reviewing now especially in this time of shameless Trump triumphant.  Two anal aggressive female elves engage in some serious chocolate smearing alongside two filthy Santas and a red nosed Reindeer who makes good (albeit flaccid) use of a glory hole, all very much in the long tradition of Saturnalian excess.

Final Portrait of Faith Wittig

Dale Wittig
Beverly Hills Florida,
Mansfield Connecticut
& San Francisco California
July - September 2017

The last portrait photos, for which I was able to persuade my mother to pose, that were taken shortly before my departure for my home in San Francisco, and the other photos, which were consciously or not taken in the spirit of those pictures, made around the time of her final birthday while thinking of her (and her possible imminent demise,) seem the best tribute to her that I can place here now.  I offer no further explanation than the fact that the shawl she wears was a gift from me purchased in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, twenty five years earlier, and the line I quoted from Guy Debord’s Society of the Spectacle in some rose paintings made around that same time: the greatness of art only begins to appear at the dusk of life.
