The only church designed by the greatest Los Angeles based architect of the 20th Century, I long wanted to view it, enter it and shoot it. I finally did so last week in the company of my longtime good friend Michael Dennison. It was recently acquired by Optima Funeral Home, and its new owner graciously let us in. Anyone who knows anything about Schindler knows that he was most concerned with sculpting the interior spaces of his structure. The inevitable beauty of the exterior is simply a byproduct of that concern.
