Elijah Moshinsky directed Cymbeline for the series of Shakespeare plays produced by Jonathan Miller for the BBC. This one first aired 20 December 1982 and starred Helen Mirren as Imogen, Richard Johnson as Cymbeline, Claire Bloom as the Queen, Michael Pennington as Posthumous and Robert Lindsay as Jachimo. Moshinsky’s filmings of the plays he chose or was assigned were consistently the best directed of the series.
