Studio 2000
starring Mike Lamas
This video was Mike's major studio debut. He played the kept boy belonging to the owner of a club with underworld connections. The only thing that really matters here is that Mike is in it and his daddy fucks him first before any reciprocation takes place. It reflects the social dynamic at play in this sort of household. The opening shot shows the rent boy haltingly studying English from an oversize book.
circa 1993
These are all photos that were taken fairly early in Mike's career as a porn model and he appears charmingly uncomfortable in more than a few of them. For me, his seeming uncertainty adds to the erotic charge of the pictures. It was probably his first gig with a major porn operation and he wasn't sure how to make the best possible impression. Of course this is just how I happen to read them. Other viewers are free to develop other interpretations.
These last five pictures aren't from Studio 2000. The first couple below look like Thrust Studios' work and the next one is probably Vivid and the last two Jet Set. I'll have to look them up.
Edgar G Ulmer & Frank Borzage
Cinecittà Roma 1961
from the novel, L'Atlantide by Pierre Benoit
(released in US July 1967)
I think I may have seen this
one at the Capitol Theater on Main Street in Willimantic CT in August
1967.
Ulmer’s penultimate movie credits him with decors, screenplay and
direction, but one can see how he intended it for Borzage to direct.
Reports conflict as to whether or not Giuseppe Masini (the other
director credited) was ever on set and when
Borzage stopped, but it’s all fairly cohesive and often very
pleasurable. Rad Fulton makes a revolutionary object of Antinea’s
adoration, Trinignant a sensitive double and Amadeo Nazzari a formidable
and unfathomable Atlantean.
Haya Harareet is persuasive as the reluctant queen, a very different interpretation of the character from Maria Montez’s gleefully sadistic Antinea in Arthur Ripley & John Brahm's Siren of Atlantis.
