Audrey’s Dance is both the name of a piece of music by Angelo Badalamenti and one of the iconic moments from the original Twin Peaks television series. It’s also one of the highlights of the current season of Twin Peaks: the Return. In it, one begins to get some of the much desired clarity regarding the current circumstances of this widely beloved character. It seems, after this recapitulation, or recreation and elaboration, of the iconic dance that Audrey is at last forced to abandon the imaginary realm, in which she has so far been shown dwelling of late. What place or state she appears to wake into is not yet so clear, though it is very brightly lit.
